D.B Cooper - That made me chuckle, they might also throw in Steve Bruce as Director of Football!

C&P from BBC Sport:

"Mauricio Pochettino is open to becoming Manchester United manager and it is not out of the question they could get the Paris St-Germain boss now."

So Conte ends up at spurs when he really wanted Man U and spurs fans wanted Pochettino back but he's likely to end up at Man U.

Hahaha! Loving it.

Whoever takes this role on will need to sip out two or three big egos before the club can move on.

Can't see the owners coming anywhere near agreeing to that happening.

Dumped out of Europe and a long way from ever getting back is their future.

Huddersfield were big, once.

Poch living out of a hotel in Paris whilst his family are here so he wants out of PSG.

Re: OGS Sacked
Carrick has been on the coaching staff throughout their downfall. I'm not sure I'd be wanting him if I were a Man Utd fan.

They need a decent manager now. I don't think they have the time to wait for Pochettino and hope he's available in the summer.

Re: OGS Sacked
Carrick is a spaz.
Players wouldn’t be able to understand him.
I hope he gets it and his backroom staff include Beardsley, Gazza and Jimmy 5 bellies.
The only cup they would lift is Raoul Moret’s Ashes

What's the betting we've already been drawn against them away in the FA Cup 3rd round?

What? LIVE you say?

OK.

Carrick is the temporary before the caretaker
Seems about right

Thing I read said they were chasing Zidane but he is holdiing out for the PSG job or France (after the World Cup). Has always seemed a sensible bloke who can take or leave management & they would be better choices than trying to play catch up on 3 vastly superior sides in Liverpool , Man City & Chelsea who are showing no signs of dropping off soon.

Reckon it will be Pochettino at the end of the season.
The bloke they should have sacked OGS for when Tottenham binned him.

I don't see Carrick as a manager.

Seems to me to be a bit of a yes man. Bit like in the same mould as Phil Neal with Graham Taylor.

Timing is amusing. Probably one of the times when there are very few proven and high profile managers available.

That said, Vera the Tea Lady ( Vera in the North, Doris in the South ) could do better.

I'm hoping it somehow lessons Conte's passion and application for the job he just got knowing that if he had been a little more patient he may have had the chance at a club with silly money to spend. I suspect that won't happen as he seems to be a bloke he is effective everywhere he goes, albeit short term stints, but anything to derail the new found optimism over there is always welcome.

Re: OGS Sacked
Zidane playing hard to get now.

Still, at least the BBC are throwing everything at this - a football club sacking it's manager. One of several to recently do so.

Re: OGS Sacked
Well that's a real shame. It's hard to imagine anyone doing worse with that talent than ole. Now we'll have to worry about them creeping back up the table

WHUDeano 11:20 Sun Nov 21
Re: OGS Sacked
Michael Carrick now 2nd favourite to get the job permanently. Learnt everything he knows from the Tony Carr led academy and the Greenwood & Allison influenced Redknapp years. Would never have fancied him to step up into a leadership role. Still don’t really.

Re: OGS Sacked
He fucked up over there too. Should never been appointed in the first place. Great playing careers doesn't into a great managerial career.

Think OGS is more tepid & ineffectual than NICE.
Who is going to hire him?
Not good enough for Cardiff so maybe MOULD in Norway will have him back

Never rated him…

So obviously out of his depth…

Poor judge of players…

Pub team level tactics…

Move on Ole…

Re: OGS Sacked
Ole is a nice guy seemingly without a nasty trait, which unfortunately isn't what you need as a top class manager. Fergie didn't suffer fools, wasn't the most likeable in the job and didn't care a jot about reputations hence why he was so successful. Klopp and Guardiola clearly have a nasty streak as I am sure our own Moyes has. I'm sure managers with a nasty streak have been more successful than the nice guys.

Sven Roeder 8:22 Sun Nov 21
Re: OGS Sacked
OGS got sacked because he was an appalling manager not because he didnt buy one more player.
Spent plenty of money again in the summer on Varane & Sancho plus the squillions of wages for C Ronaldo.
Its a shame he has gone because he was doing a remarkable job in turning hundreds of millions of pounds of players into a team that can get smashed 4-1 at Watford and should have conceded double figures at home to Liverpool.

That’s lazy journalism at its best. Fat Frank sacked because he didn’t buy Rice. Ole sacked because he didn’t buy Rice. When Pep.Klopp and Tuchel go. Let me guess.? Seriously. Sports journalism must be one of the easiest ways to steal a living.

Harry Maguire's fingers in the ears celebration looking even dafter than it did a week or so ago.
